Project Background
As an important national landmark in the international expo park, the Azerbaijan National Pavilion welcomes global official delegations, cultural groups and mass tourists every day. Hence, the client needed more than simple display walls. First of all, they required a highly‑recognizable spiral‑shaped main building structure as the visual landmark of the pavilion. In addition, they hoped to set up multiple themed indoor showroom zones for folk carpet displays, cultural artifact exhibits and multi‑media video playback. Meanwhile, smooth visiting circulation routes and public rest zones were required for large‑volume tourist flows. What is more, all special‑shaped building components, interior exhibits and circuit systems had to satisfy expo‑park fire‑safety, load‑bearing and long‑term‑open use requirements.
Core Project Challenges
To start with, the pavilion adopted complex large‑scale spiral curved wooden structures. As a result, high‑precision cutting, pre‑assembly and stable on‑site splicing became major technical difficulties. Secondly, outdoor‑indoor integrated construction needed to handle weather‑resistant material selection for exterior architecture, while creating soft cultural atmosphere inside the showroom. Furthermore, we had to split landmark entrance area, folk‑culture exhibition zone, multi‑media experience area and public rest zone reasonably, and keep unobstructed passages for dense visitor crowds. Besides, a large number of cultural exhibits and art installations needed proper protection and matching lighting design. Last but not least, the whole project followed a tight expo opening schedule; every fabrication and installation link required precise time control.
Solutions & Execution Process
First off, our design and engineering team deeply studied Azerbaijan’s cultural features and the expo‑park overall planning requirements. Next, we worked out multiple 3‑D structural and spatial‑planning drafts. After repeated client review and revision, we confirmed the final scheme. Correspondingly, we divided the whole pavilion project into four practical functional blocks: outdoor spiral‑shaped landmark entrance building, indoor folk‑culture showroom zone, multi‑media interactive experience zone, and public visiting & rest zone.
Moreover, our engineers selected weather‑resistant, high‑strength wooden and composite materials suitable for outdoor landmark construction. We completed segmentation and pre‑assembly tests for all large curved spiral components inside our factory. We also customized display cabinets, graphic walls and light schemes for folk carpets and cultural relic exhibits. Right after design approval, all special‑shape structural parts, interior display modules and graphic components were produced in PHILFLY’s own manufacturing base. Our team completed structural load‑bearing tests, weather‑resistance inspection and full factory pre‑assembly checking. After strict quality confirmation, all modules were packed safely and shipped to the expo‑park construction site.
Once materials arrived on‑site, our professional construction team carried out step‑by‑step installation work. They finished spiral main‑framework splicing, exterior building installation, indoor showroom layout, art exhibit mounting and full‑set circuit & lighting debugging. Throughout the whole construction period, our dedicated project manager kept real‑time communication with the client and expo‑park management team. Whenever on‑site adjustments for architecture or exhibition effects were needed, our team provided fast and compliant solutions.
Project Outcome
In the end, the Azerbaijan National Pavilion of Expo Park passed all safety and acceptance checks and opened to visitors on schedule. The eye‑catching spiral‑shaped landmark building quickly became a popular photo spot inside the expo park. Inside the pavilion, well‑organized showroom zones clearly presented Azerbaijan’s traditional carpets, folk crafts and national culture. Multi‑media devices brought visitors vivid cultural‑experience effects. In addition, smooth walkways and rest areas offered comfortable visiting experience for large groups of tourists.
This international national‑pavilion landmark project fully demonstrates PHILFLY’s comprehensive strength in Booth Design & Construction, complete‑chain Exhibition Service and large‑scale Showroom custom building. From early‑stage concept design, factory custom fabrication and logistics transport, to on‑site installation and final project acceptance, we manage every single workflow. We stick to our core business principle: win clients through real professional strength instead of low‑price competition.
